Please note: All peels target the superficial (top layers) of the skin only.
A consultation and home treatment product is required prior to scheduling peels.
What conditions does a chemical peel treat?
Peels can be performed on almost any part of the body. They can be used to:
Reduce fine lines under the eyes and around the mouth
Treat wrinkles and pigmentation caused by sun damage, aging and hereditary factors
Improve the appearance of mild scarring
Treat certain types of acne
Reduce the appearance of age spots, freckles and dark patches due to pregnancy or taking birth control pills (melasma)
Improve the look and feel of skin that is dull in texture and color
Light to Medium Exfoliation
Pumpkin Enzyme Peel or Arginine - These peels are excellent for sensitive skins or stubborn pigmented areas. We will customize this peel based on your skin requirements.
Lactic Acid - It is derived from milk has a low pH to enhance skin whitening for one of the best treatment for hyper pigmentation (freckles & sun spots). When applied it is absorbed by the skin and the result is a greater level of hydration. Lactic Acid also speeds development, growth, and transit of epithelial cells from the lower layer of the epidermis to the surface.
What to expect from the Light to Medium Peel
Depending upon the type of exfoliation treatment, a reaction similar to mild sunburn occurs following the procedure. Post peel (24-48 hours after) your skin may feel tight and will be followed by a very mild peeling (if any at all) that ends within three to five days. Light to medium peels may be repeated at one to two-week intervals until the desired clinical effect is achieved.
Deep Peel
TRI-PEEL - This peel combines glycolic, lactic and malic acids with a low pH for a deeper more aggressive treatment and is excellent for most skin types.
TCA - This treatment is used for deep hard to treat lines, especially around the mouth and will be customized based on your needs.
Jessner - This solution contains a combination of salicylic acid, lactic acid and resorcinol for a more aggressive and better surface peeling. This treatment is excellent for skin which is sun damaged or acne prone.
Salicylic Acid - A wonderful solution for acne, acts to prevent or eradicate deep clogging while drying out active acne.
What to expect from the Deep Peel
Deep peeling may result in an immediate redness of the skin. Within 1-3 days there may be some browning and tightening of the skin (similar to after a sunburn). Do nothing to your skin until the peeling starts, this skin will peel off over a period of 4-7 days.
Taking care of your skin after a peel
Keep treated areas cool (use a water spray).
Keep your hands away from your face unless they are clean and sanitized.
Do not pick or peel! This delays healing and causes scarring and pigmentation problems.
Moisturize - use light preparations made for the face which include at least an SPF 30 during the day after a superficial peel, thicker moisturizers at night.
Protect your face from the sun - this is very important!
If advised to do so, continue to use an at-home product containing lactic or glycolic acid for long term results.
Heal and feed the skin with the products recommended by Kristen containing vitamins and antioxidants.
